Abstract:
Tapping of Al6061/SiC metal matrix composites is the focus of this research. The composite was manufactured using the stir casting process. Different weight percentages of SiC (5%, 7.5%, and 10%) with a size of 23?m were used to make castings in Al6061. The machinability investigation of the Al6061/SiC metal matrix composite was carried out via the use of M8 x 1.25 HSS machine taps in the tapping trials.
